Being a part of Pen Palette has been an incredible journey. The diversity of emotions and stories has been both inspiring and heartwarming. It is truly an anthology that reflects the depth and beauty of human expression. I am honored to have been part of this, and I hope these words touch the readers just as deeply as they have touched me.

JORDEN CANNON - A PARENTING SECRET

Jorden Cannon lives in Starke, Florida. A stay-at-home mom to one son, a college graduate who completed their A.A. with modalities in psychology before completing high school, an artist, a former dental assistant, and a student of radiological sciences. A new writer who has rediscovered a love for life in poetry and literature.

Our first runner-up gave the winner some serious competition, crafting a piece that was not only dynamic but deeply heartfelt. It was a beautiful balance of vulnerability and resilience, packed with a unique flair that truly set her apart. So, who is this brilliant wordsmith who came so close to the top spot? Prepare to be touched by her incredible talent!

BINH HERDRICK - ENDLESS NIGHT

Binh Herdrick is a poet whose work centers on themes of love, loss, and the enduring bond that transcends physical absence. Her collection of poems was written in tribute to her beloved husband, Larry, who passed away suddenly on May 16, 2024. Through her poetry, Binh explores the raw emotions of grief and the moments of solace found in cherished memories. Writing became a powerful way for her to process her loss while keeping Larry’s memory alive. Her work reflects the profound love and connection that continues beyond the physical world.

With a story that tugged at our heartstrings, stirred our imagination, and lingered long after we finished reading, our second runner-up earned their place with ease. His narrative had a perfect balance of emotion, creativity, and depth, making us feel every word. Ready to meet the mind behind this beautiful work?

JEREMY SPRINGSTEED - BIRTHDAY WITH OBSIDIAN

Jeremy Springsteen is a barista living in Seattle. He was one of the founders of the Breadline Performance Series and a member of the ReDrum poetry collective. His work has been published in The Book of Black, an anthology by Wingless Dreamer, SPREAD, The Paragon Press, Pidgeonholes, Underwood, Pageboy, Internet Void, and Another New Calligraphy. He is the author of two collections of poetry: A Guide to Getting Lost and Salt, Weasel, Corpse, and Other.

Each of these writers brought something truly special to Pen’s Palette, and their work will stay with you long after you’ve finished reading. Who are these incredible voices, you ask? Keep your eyes peeled, because these are names you won’t want to forget!


GIOANNA ROMANO - THE WEDDING POEM

Gioanna Romano has had three of her other poems published with Wingless Dreamer in their anthologies: “Echoes of Culture," “Night Worship," and “The Silver Lining of Heartbreak." She lives with her now husband (they got married in December) and has two cats together. Lily is our princess, and Binx is our crazy cat. She is currently a graduate student working on getting her Master’s in English. Poem background: This piece of work is very near and dear to her heart because she wrote this for her now husband and read it at their wedding.

GAVIN BOURKE - FROM THE ROSETTA STONE TO THE PRINTING PRESS TO NAIL BOMBS ETC

Gavin Bourke grew up in the suburb of Tallaght in West Dublin. Married to Annemarie, and living in County Meath, he holds a B.A. in Humanities from Dublin City University, an M.A. Degree in Modern Drama Studies, and a Higher Diploma in Information Studies from University College Dublin. His work broadly covers nature, time, memory, addiction, mental health, human relationships, inner and outer life, creating meaning and purpose, politics, contemporary and historical social issues, injustice, the human situation, power and its abuse, absurdism, existentialisms, human psychology, cognition, emotion, and behavior, truth and deception, the sociological imagination, illness, socio-economics, disability, inclusivity, human life, selfishness, and its consequences, as well as urban and rural life, personal autonomy, ethics, commerce, science, grand schemes, and the technological life in English and to a lesser extent in the Irish Language.

R. OLAF ERICH - I’M GOIN’ TO LAS VEGAS

R. Olaf Erich lives a quiet life in Wisconsin USA with his furry family, Shadow and Skyler. He has been writing for decades and has several dozen poems published. He is dedicated to writing and sharing more of his poetry with the world.

LINA BUIVIDAVICIUTE - REMOTENESS, AFTER FOURTEEN YEARS

Lina Buividavičiūtė was born on May 14, 1986. She is a poet and literary critic. Lina is the author of two poetry books in Lithuania. Her poetry is published in "Matter," "Masters," “Proverse Poetry Prize" contest anthologies, "Drunk Monkeys," "Beyond Words," "The Dewdrop," "The Limit Experience," "Poets Choice," "HOW," "Beyond Queer Words," "Maudlin House," "Cathexis Northwest Press," "Poetry Online" magazines, and the "Versopolis" poetry platform. Upcoming publications will appear in “New Millennium Writings," "Cathexis Northwest Press," "Quillkeepers Press," "The Stardust Review," and “Beyond Words” magazine.

SARA POTHMANN CULLEN - I WILL NOT BE BROKEN

Sara Pothmann Cullen is from Ireland and currently works with horses. In her spare time, she writes as much as she possibly can. Between novels, short stories, and more recently poetry. Every piece is a passion project.

TANIA PRZYWARA - NEVER AGAIN PART

Tania Przywara is an American poet with works published in the anthologies Breath of Love and The Book of Black by Wingless Dreamer Publisher, among others, as well as in Volumes 2 and 3 of Through Loving Words by City Limits Publishing. A classical pianist, composer, and photographer as well, Przywara often finds that her passions intertwine with each other. Above all, Przywara aims to express the beauty of life and love through her original works and inspire others to live ever more deeply and authentically.
